Sign states that Pilot Mountain (elevation 2700 feet) is 25 miles to the south. 13 miles southwest is Mt. Airy, North Carolina, and the world's largest surface granite quarry. Taken by Robert G. Bruce in 1969, Bluffs District, Milepost 301.8.
