Henry Noble Sherwood, b. 1882
Henry Noble Sherwood was born in Mitchell, Indiana on December 8, 1882. He received his B. A. from Indiana University in 1909. He went on to Harvard University for his M. A., which he received in 1910, and returned to Indiana University for his Ph.D. (1914). Sherwood also received his LL.D. degree from Beaver College for Women in Pennsylvania.
Sherwood was a teacher in the public schools as well as a professor at both public and religious institutions.
