ORDER OF COUNCIL OF THE 21st FEBRUARY 1729/30.

At the Court at St James the 21st day of February 1729/30.

Present

The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Upon reading this day at the Board, a Representation from the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations, setting forth, that as His Majesty hath been pleased to appoint a Governor over the Province of North Carolina, a Publick Seal will be necessary for sealing all publick Instruments there, according to the method practised in all other His Majesty's Colonys in America. And therefore humbly propose, that such a Seal may be ordered accordingly. His Majesty in Council was pleased to approve thereof, and to order as it is hereby ordered, that a Publick Seal be prepared and given to the Governor of the said Province of North Carolina, And that the said Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations do cause a Draft of such Seal, to be prepared and laid before His Majesty at the Board, for His Royall Approbation.
