Letter from Mr Pownall to James West Esqre Secretary to the Lords
Commissioners of the Treasury.
Sir,

I am directed by the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations to send you the inclosed Copy of an Act passed in the Province of North Carolina in January last, intituled, An Act for ascertaining and securing the payment of Quit-Rents due to His Majesty, etc and to desire you will lay it before the Lords Commissioners of his Majesty's Treasury for their consideration together with the inclosed Copies of Sir Matthew Lamb's Report upon it and of two Papers presented to the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations by Mr Abercrombie, Agent for the Province
