Letter from Governor Tryon to the Secretary,

North Carolina Bath 28th May 1769

Reverend Sir

As Mr Peter Blinn a member in the last Assembly of this province, is setting off on a voyage to England with my recommendation to the Bishop of London for Holy Orders, I have directed him to wait upon you sir to know if the Society has any commands for this Province, since my last long Letter to you I have presented Mr Cramp to Brunswick County, the legality of which I imagine will be tried at Common Law next year; I do not recollect if I mentioned my having presented Mr Briggs to Duplin County. Mr Burgess I last week presented to Edgecombe County. Mr Johnston I have not seen since his Return. Mr Alexander who has been upwards of one year in this Province, I have at the request of some of the Inhabitants of Hertford County and in consideration of a Testimonial of his good behavior from that Vestry, given him Letters of Presentation to that parish. He appears to be a sensible excentrical Genius. I beg leave to recommend Mr Blinn to the liberality of the Society, and remain with esteem, Sir,

Yours &c
Wm. TRYON
