Newbern 30th January 1771.

Colonel Joseph Leech,

You will order from the Town Company a Serjeant and six men to patrole the streets in the night and to give notice to the Prison Guard in case they make any Discoveries of suspected persons about Town. This Guard will be continued till further Orders.
