I should have been glad to have seen Colonel Bryan could he conveniently have proceeded on to Newbern. His intelligence wch you communicate to me of the Regulators' return to their Settlements was sufficient reason for your dismissing your Regiment. Should they make any further attempt to come to Newbern I approve of your and Colonel Bryan's determination to oppose them—You will send me the particulars of the Expences incurred by your Regiment.
