At the Court at St James's the 14th day of April 1761.
Present.
The King's most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations have this day laid before His Majesty at this Board (pursuant to His Majesty's Order for that purpose) a Warrant authorizing and requiring the Governor or Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Province of North Carolina to cause Letters Patent to be passed under the Seal of that Province for constituting and appointing Thomas Falkner Esqre to be Secretary and Clerk of the Crown of and in the said Province in the room of Henry McCulloh Esqre deceased to hold exercise and enjoy the same during His Majesty's Pleasure. And His Majesty in Council having been pleased to approve of the said Warrant (which is hereunto annexed) Doth hereby order that the Right Honourable William Pitt Esqre one of His Majesty's principal Secretarys of State do lay the same before His Majesty for His Royal Signature.
