the 13th of February 1767.
Present.
The King's most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Upon reading this day at the Board a Representation from the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations dated the 6th of last month setting forth that Richard Spaight Esqre one of His Majesty's Council for the Province of North Carolina is dead and that Samuel Strudwick Esqre hath been recommended to them as a person every way qualified to serve His Majesty in that station and therefore proposing that he may be appointed of His Majesty's said Council for the Province of North Carolina in the room of the

said Richard Spaight Esqre deceased. His Majesty in Council approving thereof is pleased to order as it is hereby ordered that the said Samuel Strudwick Esqre be constituted and appointed a Member of His Majesty's said Council for the Province of North Carolina in the room of the said Richard Spaight Esqre deceased—And that the Right Honourable the Earl of Shelburne one of His Majesty's principal Secretaries of State do cause the usual Warrant to be prepared for His Majesty's Royal Signature accordingly.
