Sir:

Our Militia which is Eighteen volunteers & one hundred and twelve Drafted, refuses to march until they receive the bounty. I under stand the treasurer has no public money in his hands, our sheriff only three thousand pounds. Would be glad if you would send the sum for that use. I have sent you a bond for the faithful application of the money.

I am, Sir, Yours to command,
ARTHUR BROWN.
