GEN. HORATIO GATES TO GOV. NASH.

11th Sept., 1780.

Sir:

Major Mazaret tells me there are about Seven Hundred Spare Arms in Store (some of them out of Repair). Out of these the Disarmed Soldiers of General Smallwood's Brigade must be First Armed; the rest are at your request, ready to be delivered to the Militia. I have no means of repairing Arms; if you have, those that want it shall be delivered to the Armourer so they can repair them.

I am Yr. Excellency's Humble Servt.,
HORATIO GATES.
To Governor Nash.
