To his Excellency Governor Burke:

Neither this post, or the Commissioner for Granville County, has any Provisions on hand, nor money to purchase, and as the Laws

of this State Directs, that Orders for Impressing or otherwise obtaining the Same, Must Come from the Executive authority. I hope your Excellency will be pleased to Grant an Order for that purpose as my men in a few Days will be in Distress.
