COL. NICHOLAS LONG TO BRIG. GEN. SUMNER.

Halifax, Augt. 10th, 1782.

Sir:

I herewith send you Gen. Greene’s order for the arms. As I have not a waggon left at the Post, you will, therefore, do respecting the arms as you think the most certain way to get them, as I have it not in my power to send for them, as these 4 waggons are loaded for Head Quarters & has no Conductor. Should be mutch obliged to you to have one appointed to them, as their load are vendable articles. Neither have I an asst. of any denomination, Except Mr. Sanders, who cannot be spared from this Place.

I am, Sir,
Yr. mo. obt. servt.,
NICHOLAS LONG, D. Q. M.
