Philadelphia, Jany. 10th, 1783.

Gentlemen:

His Majesty has been informed of the proofs you have given in the name of your State of being interested on the occasion of the Birth of a Dauphin & he has observed with great satisfaction the part which the Citizens of North Carolina have taken on this auspicious occasion.

The King has commanded me to testify to you the pleasure he has received on this Subject & has charged me at the same time to assure the Citizens and Inhabitants of your State of his affection & of the particular Interest which he will constantly take in their prosperity.
