Hillsborough, Jany. 17th, 1783.

Sir:

Major John Walker, one of the Commissioners of Confiscated property of New Hanover County, being appointed and authorized to recover and bring into this State all property of that description belonging to the same from South Carolina and Georgia, waits on your Excellency for your aid and support in this business.

You will please to grant him such powers your Excellency thinks proper to carry into effect the trust reposed in him in this particular.

Be assured Sir, that with pleasure I shall be ready to return the favor on any request, in my power to grant which you shall be pleased to make respecting South Carolina.
