Sir:
I have had the honor to receive from your Excellency a Letter together with a duplicate thereof enclosing an account of Military Stores which the Marquis de Bretigny procured for this State as
Agent for the same from the Government of Martinico. At the earliest meeting of our Legislature I promise your Excellency, I shall interest myself on the subject of your Letter by laying the same before them; and urging the most speedy payment of a debt, contracted by the State in the time of her distress, for those articles of defence, which the Government of Martinico most generously furnished her.
