GOV. CASWELL TO THE COMMISSIONERS OF THE BOARD OF TREASURY.
[From Executive Letter Book.]

No. Carolina, New Bern, 20th December, 1785.

Gentlemen:

Your letter of the 29th Oct. last, I had the honor to receive with the several papers therein enclosed. The letter from Mr. Skinner, Commissioner of the Loan Office, was immediately delivered to him as he was then attending in his place here, as a member of the General Assembly. He had accepted the appointment, and the 13th Current with sufficient securities executed the Bonds. He also subscribed and took the Oath required in my presence. The Bonds and Oath are lodged with me; you will be pleased to direct how they shall be disposed of.

I have the honor to be with great respect, Gentlemen, Your mo. ob. & very humbl. Servt.,

R. CASWELL.
