Hillsborough, 5th August, 1788.

Sir:

I have laid your information respecting the high price of Tobacco at Fayetteville before the Council of State, who approve of your proposal to decline making any further purchases for the present. You will, therefore, discontinue the purchase of Tobacco at that place till the New Crop comes in.
