Dear General:
Inclosed is a letter from Major Dixon which I brought forward.
We are at a loss to know whether the rendezvous of the troops are to be at Hillsborough or not as the Commissioners have not yet one bushel of Grain. Bacon are coming in fast. There is a large quantity of provision at Harrisburg. So much that Mr. Vass know not what to do with it untill orders come to let him know whether to remove it to Hillsborough or not.
Major Dixon will wait at Hillsborough untill Thursday morning & then return home as there seems to be no hopes of any troops there before the twentieth.
He begs your instructions before then as also Mr. Birdsong at this post. I expect to be by on Monday or Tuesday & am Sir
