I was att our Southern Bounds and if ye Lords Proprietrs gett a grant for North Carolina to begin att ye Lattitude of 36 & a half, suppose they will take from this their Maties Province a great many Plantac̄ons to the lessening of their Majties Quitt rents & great dissatisfaction of ye planters for those I spoke wth in North Carolina, desired to be immediately under their Majties Governt of Virginia itt lying soe convenient for them therefore hope wee shall keep them quiet.
