A letter of complaint signed by seven of the ten Councillors appointed by the Lords Proprietors to be of Mr Burrington's Council against him and his illegal proceedings together with several affidavits confirming the same complaints were read Whereupon the Board gave their opinion that it would be proper to remove the sd Mr Burrington and Mr Ashley was desired to write to the Lord Carteret for his concurrence and consent upon that account.

A Memdm was read from Sr Richard Everard Bart desiring that he might succeed the said Mr Burrington in the government of North Carolina which was consented to accordingly.
