Gentlemen,

Mr Smith Chief Justice and Chief Baron of North Carolina having presented a Representation to My Lords Commissrs for Trade and Plantations stating some difficulties he labours under with respect to the Laws of that Province I am commanded to send you the inclosed copy of the said Representation and to acquaint you with their Lordships desire of your opinion thereupon as soon as may be
