Letter from Charles Medlock and Will Pickett to the Council of Safety.

Gentlemen:

I am sorry that I have to inform you that the Torys is imbodying themselves together upon the waters of Drowning-Creek. We are Credibley informed they are Part of this County & Part of Cumberland County, & as we think the County is in danger We think it

would be proper to raise a company of Light horse to be held in readiness upon any call, & Let the sd Company be Provided for by any Person we think shall be most Proper. Your Oppinion upon the same would Much oblige
