[From MS. Records in Office of Secretary of State.]

Halifax, 20th October, 1779.

To the Honble. The Speakers & Members of the General Assembly.

Gentlemen:

In Obedience to a Resolve of the Assembly Passed at Smithfield in May last, I have proceeded to adjust the accts. Between this and the United States, and have put them in the Best order That the shortness of the Time and the Compressed Manner the papers were in would admit of, And wish some Gentlemen of the Assembly to be appointed to Examine and Review the Same, Together with the Vouchers Necessary to Accompany the Accts.

I am, with all Due Respect, Gentlemen,
Your most Obed. Servt.
WM. SKINNER.
