As my wound is mending apace, tho' not my health, & the Surgeon informs me I am well enough to travel on horseback, & probably may get the use of my leg as formerly, in a few Months, I have to request a Furlough, or rather leave of absence, until Health & the Aff. permits me to return, then 'twill give me the greatest satisfaction imaginable, to re-enter my regt.

I have further (Dr. General) to request the Discharge of my Father's Waggons, now in your Brigade, agreeable to his orders to me in a Letter I have received since I have been at this place. If with convenientry it can be affected, or if not both, one of them at least, the one that came with Major Blount.
