Dear General:
I received your orders which I have been as attentive to as my health would permit. The drafts come in very slow, several Counties hath not sent one man yet, towit: gilford, Mountgumrey & Ritchmond. There is about eighty hear & five or six waggons, about fifty at Charlott & two waggons. I have arms and provisions for them. Would be glad of your orders as they depart as fast as they com in. Last Monday the district of Morgan was to be rendivoued at Ramsour’s Mill. I sent Capt. Brevard 2 Bushels Salt, 26 stand of Arms, some flints and ammunition. He will be ready in a few days to march but expects orders from me and will wait for that purpose. I have been in a low state of health Ever since I was at the assembly
but is somewhat better. I should have sent you a proper return But the Bearer, Col. Lock, is waiting and hurrying me.
