HON. A. MACLAINE TO GEORGE HOOPER.

22nd Febry., 1783.

My Dear Sir:

You will receive from me, by Capt. Madgett, a letter of this date & another from Kitty. This goes by Gaillard, & is only to let you know that he has a box for you, containing some candles and soap (I believe very little of the latter) & some rusk & potatoe-pone for Archy.

My time would not permit me to write to Europe otherwise I would have forwarded letters to you for Nantes & Brussels, though I think it probable you will not have any immediate conveyance, & I wish my letters to go there soon. If I do not find a probability of sending shortly by some other way, I must still write, & forward by the next conveyance.

Yours,
A. MACLAINE.
