Henry Mcrorie Dusenbery (1829–1862), known as Mack, entered the University of North Carolina in 1845 and joined the Dialectic Society. He spent his junior year at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania but returned to the University of North Carolina and graduated in 1849. A year later he was studying law in Lexington, NC. Mack and his brother William became coach trimmers, outfitting the interiors of buggies, coaches, and other vehicles. For several years Mack also was Clerk and Master at Equity in Lexington, but he suffered from "pulmonary difficulty" and died on March 17, 1862 (Coffin 191).
