To the Senate and House of Representatives:
I herewith transmit a communication from the Secretary of War,
submitting estimates for the Indian Service to June 30, 1863.
I recommend an appropriation of the amount, and for the purpose
indicated.

SIR: I have the honor to transmit herewith estimates of appropriations
necessary to meet the expenses of the Indian Service to June
30th, 1863.
The accumulation of business in this office, during an absence of
four months on my part, in visiting the Indians west of Arkansas,
joined with matters growing out of that mission, which required
prompt attention, has prevented me from preparing and submitting
these papers at an earlier day.

CREEK TREATY, JULY 10, 1861
