Insisting on the legitimacy of his position and of the Cane Creek reservoir

Herzenberg denies that he is insensitive to the exertion of government power over citizens, or to the plight of even a small number of people being displaced to build the Cane Creek reservoir. He maintains, however, that creating a reservoir could preserve the beauty of the area long-term by keeping it out of the hands of developers. He relates a similar initiative that resulted in welcome environmental protections in his hometown area in New Jersey.
