Madison County's declining population

Hyatt claims that the population of Madison County has actually declined in the past half-century, emphasizing how deeply the area needs the industry that the I-26 corridor might bring. He hopes that developers will build homes in new areas, and that mountain areas, unblemished by billboards, will attract tourists.
