Hope for future technologies to ameliorate smog

Hyatt again draws attention to the irony of cutting roads through forests to give people access to the forests. In this case, he acknowledges that the pollution created by increased traffic to sightseeing spots might add to the smog limiting the views from those spots, but he hopes that future technologies will take care of the problem. He remembers his childhood, which was free from smog.
