Whites can be decent cooks

Elberta Hudson was amazed to find that the white church members who came out to save White Stocking from the unpalatable Red Cross food actually provided tasty meals, and says that she learned not to be judgmental from her experience with white cooking. She thinks that God deliberately kept black churches out of the black communities to spur racial mingling.
