Traveling to Raleigh to dramatize flood survivors' lack of compensation

Pickett elaborates on the trip he and some other community members took to Raleigh, fueled by "two donuts and a chicken drumstick" and a sense that the commissioners had failed the citizens of White Stocking. He does not describe exactly what they did or whether they were successful, but they did manage to get some press attention, which Pickett felt was aimed at coastal areas.
