Changes come to Madison County, including an influx of new, more vocal, residents

Hoffman reveals that when his father moved to the area around 1960, he effected a lot of change. Perhaps because it is part of his family legacy, Hoffman welcomes the changes coming to Mars Hill and Madison County at large. He sees the newer residents as more vocal and more willing to champion the area's causes, fighting for the environment, culture, and economic development.
