Yeah. I was working on third shift. She worked on the first shift. She
called here one morning before I went bed and was talking to me. I
thought it was this lady from Elon College. I didn't ask her who she
was. I thought it was this lady from Elon, talked just like her, you
couldn't tell them apart. She wanted to know how things was going on at
the mill.
I said, "O.K. Fine."
She said, "They're laying off help up there, aren't they?
I said, "Not that I've heard any tell of."
She said, "I heard they let some go up there."
I said, "Well, I don't know but one they let go."
She said, "What did they let her go for?"
I said, "Well, she was a cheating on her work and they caught her." And I
called her name. And you know, she was a preacher's wife. I hated that
so bad I felt like two cents. And I said, "It was Claire Vickers."
She said, "Well that's me. I'm the one."
