An excerpt from London's account book gives his expenses for the
Fall 1862 session, when board cost $25 a month.

contents appears on the verso of the title page. Entries begin on July 17,
1862, and end on December 1, 1863. The diary also records the dates of letters
written and received, expenses for the 1862-63 academic year,
London's
recitation schedule, and the number of times he
was taken up in each class. The list of expenses excerpted here appears on
pages 106 to 107.
