James Patterson's proposals for building a Stewards House —£350.
To buildg. a Stewards [House 3] 6 feet in Length and 30 feet illegible the one Storey High 10 feet Pitch agreeable to the oposite Plan to be suported on brick pillars 1 1/2 feet High from the surface of the Earth 2 stacks of brick Chimneys the floor of the Kitchen to be Laid with brick the frame of the house to be made out of Either Pine or oak timber the Lower floor to be Laid with 11/4 inch flooring boards square Edge the upper floor Laid with inch boards plaind on the underside the the outside of the frame weatherboarded the front only Plaind and beeded five batton Doors Eight window sashes 13 Lights Each seven by Nine inches No cieling to the inside of the frame. the whole to be finished in a substanshall WorkmanLike Manner finding all Materials Nails, Locks Hinges. etc. the whole to be compleated before the first Jany. 1795 for the sum of three hundred and fifty Pounds. He will also Undertake to finish the house for the president of the University by the same time for the sum of seven hundred Pounds the terms of Payment one third on Demand one third when the frames are Raised and the other third when finished.
