Secretary of the
Board
Respected Sir,
In a meeting of the students a few days since the undersigned were appointed a
Committee to deliberate upon what measures were to be taken with respect to the
erection of a building, the object of which was made known to the Executive Committee during the last session.
We therefore met, and in compliance with their request and in accordance with the
contents of the letter received from you last session, to wit, that the material
& dimensions of the building should be stated, communicate the
following.
The material, of which the house is to be built is to be of brick. The dimensions
are 75 feet by 35. There are to be 6 windows in front and a large door, 7
windows behind, and 3 in one end and in the other there are to be 2 small rooms
with a passage between leading into the main room; a plan of which will be
enclosed.
We are very anxious to know what is the result of the deliberations upon the
petition that was sent to the Executive Committee. You
stated in your letter that it was to be laid before the Trustees.
We sincerely hope that it has met with their cordial approbation, as it is
manifest to all that such a building is much needed at the University.
You will greatly oblige us by immediately
