Resolved that the prayer of the politicians be not granted, but that such should be instituted &c.

Mr Murphey from the committee appointed to investigate the propriety of building at the University a Laboratory & made a report; which being read was ordered to lie upon the table for further consideration.
Ordered that Messrs Polk, Seawell, & Murphey be appointed a committee to enquire into the right and propriety of selling Mr Gerrards service right of land and the land warrants belonging to the Trustees, and to make a report thereon.
Be it ordained by the Trustees of the University of North Carolina; and it is hereby ordained by the authority of the same; that the following plan of education shall be adopted for the preparatory school and College in the University of this State for the future tenet.
