Meeting of Executive Committee of the University held this day.
Present.
Meeting called to order by Gov. Holden
.
.Mr. S. S. Ashley appointed secretary pro tem.

Voted. That this Board do elect a President and five Professors.
Voted. That Rev. Solomon Pool
of Chapel
Hill be and hereby is elected President of the University of N.C.
Voted. That the salary of the President be two thousand dollars per annum and one hundred and twenty dollars be allowed for house rent.
Voted.That a committee of two members be appointed to inform Mr. Pool
of his election as President and request his
attendance at 2. o.c. P.M. Messrs Rodman & Harris
were appointed this committee.Adjourned to 4 P.M.
