Chapel Hill Feb 1860

Dear Father

I received the letter written by Mother in your name some time since stating that she was going to Charleston though I suppose you have got back by this time I hope the trip has improved your health and also that Mother enjoyed herself. Chapel Hill is dull and the course altogether monotonous. I wish you would permit me to leave College. I know while I am writing what your answer will be nevertheless I think that I ought to let you know that I am not doing
