Whereas it has appeared to the Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina that great evils and essential disadvantages have already arisen and are likely still to arise to the good morals of youth in this University from the opportunities and temptations presented to them of drinking spirituous liquors and of resorting to disorderly houses.
Be it therefore Ordained by the Trustees of the University of North Carolina and it is hereby Ordained by the authority of the same that whenever hereafter it may appear to the Faculty that it is no longer proper or safe for students of the University to visit any particular house in the Village; the Faculty may and they are hereby authorized and required to prohibit the Students from going to such house by inflicting such punishment as to them may appear proper; the infliction of which is not forbidden by the laws of the Institution.

Be it ordained by the Trustees of the University of North Carolina and it is hereby ordained by the authority of the same, that no student shall be permitted to board at any house in the Village without previously obtaining at each session the written approbation of the President of the Institution.

The Board adjourned sine die.
