Raleigh, Feby. 13, 1873

At a called meeting of the Board of Trustees held this evening:

Present:
C. H. Brogden, W. R. Myers , J B. Mason , W. S. Battle , D. C. Guyther , W. A Stowe,1 Dr. J. Shaw, J. L. Robinson, A. McIver , Sol Pool , Wm. H. Howerton , E. W. Pow., W. F. Henderson, T. L. Hargrove , C. M. T. McCauley , and W. S. Carter .
On motion of Mr. McIver , E. G. Haywood was called upon to make a statement about the suit of the bank vs. the University of North Carolina. After he had concluded —
Mr. Robinson offered the following resolution which was adopted:
Resolved That the committee appointed at the last meeting be authorized in addition to the powers given them to take an appeal to the Supreme Court of the U States, if they deem such course advisable.
On motion of Mr. Pool it is the sense of this meeting that Mr. Haywood be continued as counsel.
On motion the meeting then adjourned.
