Gentlemen

Having this opertunity by a friend of Mr Archdale & mine who Intends to Inhabit among you I could not omitt letting you know that your Letters are recd by ye Lords but by reason of ye calling of a new parliamt most of ym being now in ye country you may expect their answer & directions per first oportunity after there Returne, the most material matter is that of ye Governor of Virginia settling by virtue of the Kings Comisso Judges of ye Admiralty with you, I have had some discourse with ye Earle of Bathe about it, who very well aproves of your answer to ye said Governors Letter but we were both of ye opinion, that if they will force such a thing upon you, it is better at this time to suffer it, then to give any occasion of a dispute, this I thought fitt to acquaint you of my owne head, having not at present ye oportunity of a better advice by ye next you will have ye opinion of ye board of ye Lords proptors concerning all your matters, till then I have no more to add but that I am
