North Carolina, Anson County—ss.

Know all men by these presents, that We, John Hamar of the said County, gentlemen, James Carter and John Bravard Esqrs both of Rowan County in the said Province, are held & firmly bound unto John Rutherfurd His Majesty's Receiver General for the said Province in the sum of one thousand pounds proclamation Money to be well and truly paid to the said John Rutherfurd and his successors in office by us, and each of us, our heirs executors and admrs to which Payment well & truly to be made We bind ourselves and each of us Our heirs Exrs & Admrs firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and Dated this thirteenth day of October Anno Domini 1755.

The Condition of the above obligation is such that Whereas the above bounden John Hamar is appointed Deputy Receiver for the County of Anson Now if the Said John Hamar Shall well & faithfully execute the Office of his Majestys Deputy Receiver of His Majestys Rents, Arrears of Rents fine & forfeitures for the said County of Anson and that he shall Deliver on or before the 25th day of March Yearly to his Majestys Recr Genl for the time being a Just & true acct of his Proceedings

& of the Sums of Money he shall Receive by Vertue of his Executing of the said Office upon Oath agreable to the form herewith given him; And that He shall well & truly pay unto the said John Rutherfurd and his Successors in Office all Such Sums of money as he shall Receive by Vertue of his being Appointed Deputy Recr as aforesaid Deducting five per Ct for His trouble Then the above Obligation to be Void otherwise to Remain in full force & Vertue.
