SHERIFF T. WRIGHT TO GOVERNOR MARTIN.

January 27th, 1782.

His Excellency Governor Martin.

Sir:

Being Elected Sheriff of the County of New Hanover and taking into my possession what appear’d as British property, I therefore, agreeable to the last acts of Assembly, transmit your Excellency an account of particulars, which indeed are very trifling to what you might have expected but all that could be collected after Gen. Rutherford’s Army, by the Coroner; which I received after my appointment. I should be glad to receive your Excellency’s Orders whether to dispose of them being very liable to be stolen.

I am your Excellency’s Most Obedt. Servt.,
T. WRIGHT.
