Honble Sir
The shortness of the time between the receipt of your Letter and the Time appointed for the Examining of the Evidences therein mentioned together with the badness of the weather hindered our having some persons at the times and places; I therefore desire you to favour me with Copys of the Depositions that were taken in that matter. I have also with the Advice of the Council thought necessary to examine some of our ancient Inhabitants on the same questions and have appointed the 8th of January next at the House of Edward Moseley Esqr in Chowan where if you think fitt to appoint any persons to be present they shall be very kindly recd. If not I will carefully send you copies of the depositions
