Coll Christopher Gale Presented a Commission to this Board from the Lds proprietors Appointing him Chiefe Justice of this Province and pray'd the same might be read and Admitted of And the Question being put to this Board by the Governor whither the Said Commission ought to be published and Take place before the Instructions Came over or not and it passt in ye Affirmative and thereupon the Said Commission was read and admitted of accordingly.

Major Tho Luten preferrd a petition to this Board praying that Letters Testamentary might be Granted to him on ye Last Will and Testamt of Mrs Ester Pollock Dec'd and ye honble Coll Thos Pollock Late husband of ye sd Ester haveing made known to this Board his reasonable Excuse for not appearing at this time

It is Ordered that the subject matter of ye Said Petition be referr'd to ye 3d day of ye next General Court and that if the said Coll Pollock appear not at yt time this Board will proceed to determine ye same

Then this Board adjourned to ye Governors house on Munday next.

Upon Petition of Lewis Conner Esqr Setting forth that he did on ye 22 day of June 1713 make an Entry with Thos Pollock Junr the then Surveyor Genll of all ye Land Swamp and Lowe Ground from the head of his own Land in Pamplico yt he bought of Major Barrow up to ye head of Aldersons and yt which was Collingwood Wards cleare across ye neck to Matchapungo Creek or as farr as the Land of Major Barrow and others adjoyning and that Conformable to ye Custom of this Governmt he did request the Surveyor Genll to Survey or cause ye said Land to be Surveyed for him and did Treat wth ye Lords Receiver General for and Concerning the payment of ye Purchase money for ye same but either by the remissness of ye Surveyor or for some other reason to him ye said Conner unknown the said Land is not yett laid out and that he has advertised yt one Mr John Porter is takeing up part of ye same Lands and therefore prayes that this board will Order ye present Surveyor Generall or his Deputy to survey and lay out the same according to this said Entrey

Ordered that the Surveyr Genll or his Depty do lay out the aforesaid Land pursuant to ye purport of ye said petition provided he do not interfere wth the proprietors Instructions or any other former warts or Enteries thereon

Upon Petition of Katherine King Widdow and relict of John King dec'd Shewing that a Tract of Land Lyeing on the Middle Branch of Salmon Creek belonging to John King her late husband Containing Six

hundred and Forty acres is Lapst for want of being seated in due time pursuant to ye pattent and prays the same may be granted to her
