A POPPLE TO Mr SCROPE 5 JUNE 1729

To Mr Scrope Secry to the Lords of the Treasury.

Sir

My Lords Commissrs for Trade and Plantations command me to send you the inclosed Extract of a Letter from Major Gooch Lieut: Govr of Virginia dated ye 26th March 1729 wherein he desires, Orders may be sent for the payment of the Charge of the Commissrs on behalf of the Colony of Virginia, for running a Division Line between that Colony and North Carolina.

As this service was performed in Obedience to his late Majestys Order in Council of 28th March 1727, And as the same will encourage many Grants of Land and New Settlement near those Bounds, to the great increase of his Majestys Revenue of Quit Rents in Virginia, their Lordships command me to desire, you will lay the same before the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury for her Majestys Orders what Sum shall be allowed for the charge of this Survey, and out of what Fund the same shall be paid, I am
